Maria is a co-founder of Remedy and a graduate of the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene Sciences from UBC and worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist for over a decade before becoming an RMT.

Maria provides general RMT care with a particular interest in Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), post-surgical and cancer-related care, lymphedema support, pediatric massage, TMJ and buccal facial massage, and hot stone massage. Treatments are individualized and may incorporate Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial techniques, and relaxation-focused techniques.

She has completed Dr. Vodder MLD Levels 1, 2 & 3 and is a Certified Applied MLD Therapist, providing gentle MLD for clients experiencing lymphedema or post-surgical swelling, including those recovering from mastectomy and other cancer-related surgeries. She has also completed additional training in pediatric massage, TMJ and buccal facial massage, and post-surgical/scar tissue care.

Outside the clinic, Maria enjoys tennis, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, hiking, and spending time with her two dogs, Rome and Popcorn.

Maria is fluent in English and speaks conversational Tagalog.
